Avery & I spent the last couple of days shivering our way through the Telegraph Street Fair in Berkeley, CA, a veritable sea of woodcrafts, jewelry, soap, stained glass, bumper stickers, oils, henna, and, of course, us: the guys who make shirts about reaching into an elephant. We’re always sort of the underdogs at this direct competition of grizzled salespeople beautiful gathering of souls, but I’m happy to report that we went in there, took names, changed lives, made love-connections, sold shirts, met great people, angered a neighboring vendor (tune in tomorrow when I have more energy and I’ll tell you that story, but just so you know, it results in someone getting told on) and generally just lived, battling the elements when they arrived, whether earth or wind or rain (or the small garbage-fire that we accidentally set off). We’re planning on manning a booth next weekend, too. Be there for quick access to last-minute Garfunkel-oriented gifts …
(More on the fair tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to post a hello if we met you this weekend, or even if we didn’t. We’re all about community-building and friend-making here at Big Stone Head Dot Net.)
